Rubies are among the most expensive gemstones, and Burmese ruby prices can be high. Prices vary according to many factors, including color, purity and shape.
There's also the price per carat of Burmese rubies, which means that larger stones are more expensive, but it's rare to find large rubies, and this is also the case for Mogok or pigeon's blood rubies. How much does a Burmese ruby cost? As an indication only, you can find prices ranging from €1,000 to €10,000 per stone. Some Burmese rubies are much more expensive, and some rare large stones have sold for record prices.
Compared to other gemstones, rubies are relatively rare, and Burmese rubies are even rarer. It's not easy to find sufficiently transparent Burmese pigeon's blood rubies. What's more, the market for Burmese rubies is strictly regulated.
For your ruby purchase, we offer stones obtained without intermediaries and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from a reputable laboratory. Pigeon's blood rubies are particularly sought-after in jewelry for their deep red color, but also because they are more often free of inclusions visible to the naked eye than other stones. It's this exceptional, highly prized quality that makes rubies so prestigious. Many have been used in the manufacture of sumptuous jewels that have become famous.
We create bespoke jewelry rings with rubies, among other precious or semi-precious stones. You can choose a Burmese ruby for a unique piece of jewelry featuring a stone of exceptional quality, with a vibrant color that symbolizes passion to perfection.
The meaning of ruby is love, but an intense red also symbolizes courage and vitality. In addition, rubies have long been used for protection. Today, ruby rings can be created in yellow, white or rose gold. This stone is often accompanied by diamonds, a superb effect with intense rubies such as pigeon's blood.
Burmese rubies are often used to create ruby engagement rings, as well as for wedding anniversaries. Its shape is frequently oval, which avoids the loss of carats.
The ruby from Burma (Myanmar) is a rare stone from the Mogok region, known as Ruby Valley. Ruby mines are found here, but the country also produces many other stones, notably garnet, which comes in a variety of colors, including red and blood-red.
A very dark red is characteristic of Burmese pigeon's blood rubies from the ruby valley. It is sometimes called Mogok ruby. It's an intense color that's harder to find than it used to be. Burmese rubies also fluoresce strongly, giving them a unique beauty in natural light.
Rubies are red because of the chromium present in their composition, and pigeon's blood indicates a higher chromium content. Rubies come in different shades of red, such as orange-red, pinkish, purplish... They are very hard stones (9/10 on the Mohs scale), mainly mined in Asian countries, but the Mozambique ruby is increasingly renowned in jewelry.
