At Bonnot Paris, our global network allows us to respond to all your requests for traditional or rare stones.
Each stone is selected for its rarity, clarity and ethics, guaranteeing traceability, exceptional quality and fair prices.
Learn moreThe tsavorite price can be high or more affordable. For two good quality stones, emerald generally remains more expensive. The factors impacting prices are multiple and interconnected. Thus, it is not said that an exceptional tsavorite cannot cost more than an emerald of average quality.
In addition to quality criteria, the origin of the stones, unheated tsavorites and fluctuating demand must be taken into account. But it increases for tsavorite and therefore, the price per carat can be significant for the most beautiful specimens. With most green garnets being less than 2 carats, larger ones can command significant prices, but it's not all about the carats.

We are talking about a very characteristic stone and, frequently, connoisseurs know how to recognize a tsavorite from a émeraude. It is usually lighter (transparent) and brighter. It is also much rarer, but it is difficult to find large tsavorite stones.
If you are hesitating between a bague émeraude and a ring with tsavorite, the latter has advantages: intensity, luminosity, a greater variety of shades (even if emeralds can be more or less light or dark), more choice of fancy sizes. That said, some prefer emerald, a prestigious precious stone known for millennia, so highly symbolic and which, for a collector, can represent a safer investment (with a high quality gem).
Tsavorite garnet is also sometimes similar to tourmaline chromée.

Essentially, tsavorite means vitality and regeneration, and many virtues are attributed to it: it is said to bring luck, prosperity, success.
In lithotherapy, it can be used to soothe, rebalance energies, energize relationships, protect, restore confidence or hope, chase away bad emotions.

Rather rare, sought after for its transparency and brilliance, tsavorite is a hard, solid stone, cut into all kinds of shapes, round, oval, cushion, rectangular, heart… Belonging to the family grenats, and sometimes called “ tsavorite garnet », this magnificent green stone is of increasing interest to the world of jewelry, particularly jewelry.
It has become popular since the 80s/90s and it is not surprising, with this deep, fiery green, with accents of tropical vegetation. In any case, it is a popular color, which can recall that of certain emeralds. An imperial green, but other shades are very popular, such as bottle green. And compared to other stones, tsavorites more rarely contain inclusions visible to the naked eye.
Garnets present different colors and the green garnet comes mainly from African countries, mainly Kenya. It takes its name from a region in Kenya, Tsavo, where it was discovered in 1967. There is also the tsavorite from Madagascar, often smaller. The stone can evoke the tourmaline verte, which is however less saturated, in general. If you like this color, don't miss our alexandrites.
