Founded by a gemologist, maison Bonnot allows you to have a sapphire engagement ring created with the perfect stone for you.
The tradition of the blue sapphire engagement ring goes back centuries. Undoubtedly, it was revived by Lady Diana's ring, which was presented to Kate Middleton in 2010. It's a blue sapphire and diamond daisy ring, a sumptuous style, among many others to showcase this superb gem. While the sapphire engagement ring has become a mythical piece of jewelry, most often featuring an oval sapphire, we'll see that the choice is actually quite vast.

After blue, the pink sapphire ring has been particularly popular in recent years. Feminine and delicate, this color also embodies romance.
For an original sapphire ring, consider orange sapphire, some specimens of which are extremely rare. These colors are popular for the creation of solitaire sapphire rings, especially for those who prefer a modern sapphire ring. The other shades depart from tradition, but note that there are many possibilities for a contemporary blue sapphire ring design.
The green sapphire ring is gaining in popularity. This color offers different shades, each more beautiful than the last, and creates a beautiful contrast with rose gold. Like all sapphires, you can consider a green sapphire and diamond ring for a variety of occasions, not just engagement. A teal sapphire ring features another atypical color, which is also becoming trendy. Choosing a blue-green shade, more generally, is a good way to have an original sapphire ring. Browse our stones, obtained without intermediaries and accompanied by their certificate of authenticity, to have a gold and sapphire ring made in the color of your choice.
The lowest-priced sapphire rings are those in 375/1000 gold with a small sapphire of 0.1 to 0.5 carats, approximately. In 750/1000 (18-carat) gold, i.e. 75% pure gold, with a larger sapphire, between 1 and 2 carats, expect to pay €2,000 for a modern sapphire ring with diamonds, at the very least.
The price of a sapphire depends not only on carats, but also on quality and cut. As a result, there are sometimes differences that are difficult to understand, because not all the details are immediately perceptible, and you also have to consider the quality of the design. So, how much does a sapphire ring cost? French, handcrafted quality, in 18k gold with a sapphire of decent size and quality, for a central stone (and a pretty design), consider a few thousand euros.
A modern sapphire ring comes in a variety of aesthetics, but the main trends may give you some ideas.
Essentially, we're talking about a modern white gold sapphire ring, with a rather thin band set with an emerald-cut sapphire (rectangle), or another shape that's less classic than the oval. You have a lot of geometric play, a certain minimalism that is partly created with a contemporary setting, such as the closed setting or the barrette setting. What's more, a modern blue sapphire ring can have a pavage of sapphires and diamonds, or even a surround of small sapphires, instead of diamonds alone.
There are, of course, modern rings with sapphires in yellow gold, with clean lines and original settings such as double rings, or with two or three main stones instead of one. In short, these are designs that break with the classics.
The choice of a sapphire ring is frequently inspired by the stone's symbolism, with its virtues such as fidelity, serenity and wisdom, but also its hardness. Sapphire is the hardest stone after diamonds, making it a highly resistant gem for an elegant ring worn every day.
Pink sapphire, green sapphire, violet sapphire and other colors have the same hardness. Sapphire prices vary according to color, carat, purity and size. The diversity of sapphires opens the door to all budgets.
