A peach sapphire is a variety of sapphire whose colour sits between a soft rose and a warm orange, evoking the tone of the fruit itself. It is a natural stone prized for its gentle glow and luminous brilliance, and is highly fashionable for romantic jewellery.
Its hue comes from traces of elements such as iron and, at times, chromium present within the crystal. The intensity ranges from a pale, powdery peach through to deeper, almost apricot tones.

The padparadscha is an exceptionally rare pink-orange sapphire governed by strict criteria among specialists. The peach sapphire, more accessible, offers closely related hues but without the exacting standards — or the price — of a true padparadscha.
