Alexandre’s brief

Alexandre contacted us to create a bold and elegant engagement ring combining brilliance and originality. He was looking for an exceptional Mahenge spinel, set in a vibrant multicoloured band design. Furthermore, the setting had to enhance the central stone within a harmonious halo of varied gemstones. Our workshop therefore designed an exuberant piece combining bold colour contrasts with refinement.

The central Mahenge spinel weighs 1.01 carats and comes from the Mahenge region of Tanzania. Indeed, Mahenge spinel is one of the most sought-after varieties among enthusiasts for its unique colour. Its vibrant neon pink colour is characteristic of the finest spinels from this legendary mine. Moreover, its hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale ensures excellent resistance to daily wear. This Mahenge spinel ring with sapphire halo features a trillion-cut centre stone set with prongs. For example, a halo composed of purple sapphires, blue sapphires, peach sapphires, garnet, tsavorite and diamonds creates a colour gradient on either side of the stone.
