Padparadscha Sapphire Engagement Ring by Maximilien
Maximilien’s padparadscha sapphire engagement ring was made to measure. It showcases a rare stone highly sought after by collectors: the padparadscha sapphire, with its soft shades of pink and orange.
Maximilien’s Brief
Maximilien wanted a bespoke engagement ring centred around a cognac-coloured stone with pink reflections. We therefore selected a 1.73-carat padparadscha sapphire. Maximilien drew inspiration from flowers, so the choice of multicoloured marquise-cut stones came naturally.
The 1.73-Carat Teal Sapphire
The central padparadscha sapphire weighs 1.73 carats and was cut into an oval by our Sri Lankan lapidaries. It also comes from Madagascar, its country of origin. Its chameleon-like colour blends cognac orange and pink in a rather soft hue. Moreover, this shade changes depending on its exposure to light, making each stone unique. This is why padparadscha sapphire is among the most sought-after varieties today. Finally, its hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale ensures excellent resistance to everyday wear. All our stones are certified by independent or international gemmological laboratories.
The Ring in Detail
The padparadscha sapphire sits at the heart of the ring. It is then complemented by multicoloured diamonds and sapphires (champagne, pink and padparadscha) that support the centre stone. These accompanying stones are cut into marquise shapes. The setting, as well as the marquise-cut stones crafted in 750‰ yellow gold, enhances the stones’ shades of colour. This modern creation combines romance and contemporary refinement.
