Fabien's brief

Fabien contacted us to create a bespoke birth ring celebrating a precious event. He was looking for an exceptional gemstone, with a rare and symbolic colour, set in a classic and elegant creation. In addition, the setting had to enhance the centre stone while surrounding it with a cradle of light. Our workshop therefore created a timeless design worthy of this exceptionally rare stone.

The padparadscha sapphire of over 4 carats

The centre sapphire weighs over 4 carats and comes from Sri Lanka, the historic birthplace of the finest padparadschas. Indeed, padparadscha is one of the rarest varieties of sapphire in the world, and its name means “lotus flower” in Sinhalese. Its unique colour blends shades of pink and orange characteristic of this legendary stone. Furthermore, its hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale guarantees excellent resistance to everyday wear. The padparadscha sapphire remains one of the most sought-after gemstones among collectors and high jewellery enthusiasts.

This padparadscha sapphire ring features a cushion-cut stone surrounded by a halo of round diamonds in a pavé setting. For example, the band is also adorned with pavé-set diamonds on the shoulders to multiply the stone's brilliance. The natural diamonds accompanying the centre stone enhance its pink-orange tones with brilliance and refinement. In addition, the 750/000 white gold setting provides a luminous contrast that highlights the padparadscha's unique colour. The overall design thus creates a perfect balance between romantic sparkle and timeless elegance.
