David’s brief

David contacted us to create a unique engagement ring featuring one of our favourite gemstones. He was looking for an exceptional padparadscha sapphire, set in a contemporary, asymmetrical creation. In addition, the setting had to enhance the centre stone while creating an organic cluster effect around it. Our workshop therefore conceived a bold design combining irregular lines and refinement.

The 0.6-carat padparadscha sapphire

The central padparadscha sapphire weighs 0.6 carats and comes from Madagascar. Indeed, padparadscha is one of the rarest sapphire varieties in the world, its name meaning “lotus flower” in Sinhalese. Its unique colour combines shades of pink and orange characteristic of this legendary gemstone. Furthermore, its hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale guarantees excellent resistance to everyday wear. The padparadscha sapphire remains one of the most sought-after gemstones among collectors and high jewellery enthusiasts.

The padparadscha sapphire engagement ring in detail

This creation features an oval padparadscha sapphire in a central claw setting, surrounded by an asymmetrical cluster of gemstones. For example, round, marquise and pear-cut D/IF diamonds accompany the main stone in an organic composition. D/IF diamonds represent the highest quality on the market, combining colourlessness with maximum clarity. In addition, the 750/000 rose gold setting echoes the pink-orange tones of the centre stone. The ensemble thus creates a perfect balance between contemporary boldness and romantic elegance.
