Emmanuelle’s brief

Emmanuelle contacted us to create a modern-style birthday ring featuring one of our favourite stones. She was looking for an exceptional, unheated aquamarine, set in a contemporary, refined creation. In addition, the setting was to enhance the central stone with a fluid, architectural design. Thus, our workshop designed a ring with intersecting lines that highlights the stone’s transparency.

The 1.75-carat aquamarine

The central aquamarine weighs 1.75 carats and comes from Mozambique, one of the most sought-after origins for this stone. Indeed, this aquamarine is unheated, which is a major asset in today’s high jewellery market. Its unique colour combines a luminous, limpid blue characteristic of the finest aquamarines. Moreover, its hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale makes it suitable for everyday wear. Aquamarine belongs to the beryl family and remains one of the most sought-after stones for its fresh colour.

This aquamarine ring features an oval-cut stone set in claws at its centre. For example, the ring adopts a contemporary crossed design that embraces the stone with fluidity. This architectural construction creates an original sense of movement around the central gem. In addition, the 750/000 white gold setting provides a neutral, luminous frame that enhances the stone’s translucent blue.
