Louis’s brief

Louis contacted us to create a sleek engagement ring featuring one of our favourite stones. He was looking for an exceptional unheated teal sapphire, set in a minimalist creation that would showcase the stone without artifice. Furthermore, the setting had to protect the centre stone while giving it a pure, contemporary interpretation. Thus, our workshop designed a solitaire with a boldly understated bezel setting.

The 1.53-carat teal sapphire

The central teal sapphire weighs 1.53 carats and comes from Madagascar. Indeed, this stone is unheated, which represents a major advantage in today’s high jewellery market. Its unique colour combines deep blue and luminous green nuances characteristic of teal sapphire. Moreover, its hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale ensures excellent resistance to everyday wear. This teal sapphire solitaire ring features a centrally set oval-cut stone in a bezel setting. For example, the bezel setting fully surrounds the stone’s girdle in a gold frame that accentuates its outline.
