Pear-shaped red spinel ring
The pear-shaped red spinel ring illustrates Bonnot Paris’s bespoke expertise. This creation showcases a magnificent unheated 1.21-carat pear-shaped red spinel from the Luc Yen region of Vietnam. Moreover, this piece reflects our expertise in creating unique pieces for each client. It thus demonstrates the diversity of our high jewellery creations.
Our client contacted us to create an elegant anniversary ring featuring a rare, luminous stone. He was looking for an exceptional unheated red spinel, set in a pared-back creation that would highlight its unusual shape. Furthermore, the setting had to enhance the centre stone without competing with it through decorative elements. Our workshop therefore designed a sleek solitaire with a split band that emphasises the stone’s silhouette.
The 1.21-carat red spinel
The central red spinel weighs 1.21 carats and comes from Luc Yen in Vietnam, one of the most sought-after origins for this stone. Indeed, this spinel is unheated, which is a major asset in today’s high jewellery market. Its unique colour combines an intense raspberry red characteristic of the finest spinels from this mine. Furthermore, its hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale ensures excellent resistance to daily wear. Unheated red spinel remains one of the most sought-after varieties among collectors and discerning enthusiasts.
The pear-shaped red spinel ring in detail
This pear-shaped red spinel ring features a centrally positioned pear-shaped stone set with prongs. For example, the band adopts a split structure that opens elegantly around the stone, making it appear to float. This architectural construction creates a sense of movement and accentuates the graceful silhouette of the pear shape. Moreover, the 750/000 rose gold setting echoes the warm tones of the stone and enhances its raspberry brilliance. The ensemble thus creates a perfect balance between contemporary minimalism and confident presence.
