Our client contacted us to create an elegant, timeless engagement ring featuring a gemstone in soft, luminous hues. She was looking for an exceptional aquamarine, set in a classic design with a diamond-enhanced setting. In addition, the band was to bring light around the entire circumference to multiply the stone’s brilliance. Our workshop therefore created a solitaire design with diamond pavé on the shoulders.
The central aquamarine weighs 1.07 carats and comes from Mozambique, one of the most sought-after origins for this gemstone. Indeed, Mozambican aquamarines are distinguished by their luminous blue colour and exceptional transparency. Its unique colour combines a translucent blue characteristic of the finest stones from this origin. Moreover, its hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale makes it a gemstone suitable for everyday wear. Aquamarine belongs to the beryl family and remains one of the most sought-after gemstones for its fresh colour.
This aquamarine engagement ring features a centrally positioned oval-cut stone set with prongs. For example, a pavé of round diamonds totalling 0.20 carats adorns the band on either side of the main stone. The brilliant diamonds bring contrasting light that enhances the gem’s luminous blue transparency. In addition, the 750/000 white gold setting amplifies the stone’s brilliance and provides a neutral setting for the piece as a whole. Together, these elements create a perfect balance between bridal classicism and contemporary freshness.
