The Mozambique ruby ring created for Shitao illustrates Bonnot Paris’ bespoke expertise. This creation showcases a magnificent 1.25-carat oval ruby from Mozambique. Furthermore, this piece is part of our expertise in creating one-of-a-kind pieces for each client. It therefore reflects the diversity of our high jewellery creations.

Shitao’s brief

Shitao contacted us to create a bespoke engagement ring featuring a rare and radiant stone. He was looking for an exceptional ruby, set in a precious creation combining light and architecture. In addition, the setting had to enhance the central stone with a generous surround of diamonds. Our workshop therefore designed a band-style piece pairing the main gemstone with rhythmic pavé.

The 1.25-carat Mozambique ruby

The central ruby weighs 1.25 carats and comes from Mozambique, one of the most prestigious origins for this stone. Indeed, Mozambique rubies are distinguished by their deep red colour and excellent saturation. Its unique colour combines intense red nuances characteristic of the finest stones from this origin. Moreover, its hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale ensures excellent resistance to everyday wear. Ruby remains one of the four major precious stones, alongside diamond, sapphire and emerald.

The Mozambique ruby ring in detail

This Mozambique ruby ring features a centrally positioned oval-cut stone set with prongs. For example, a generous surround of F/VVS-quality round and marquise diamonds frames the main stone in a band-style design. F/VVS diamonds represent exceptional quality, combining outstanding whiteness with near-perfect clarity. Furthermore, the 900/000 platinum setting provides a neutral, luminous setting that amplifies the intensity of the deep red. The whole thus creates a perfect balance between precious architecture and striking presence.
