Unheated bi-colour sapphire rose gold ring for Anne-Cécile
The unheated bi-colour sapphire rose gold ring created for Anne-Cécile illustrates Bonnot Paris’s bespoke expertise. This creation showcases a 1.33-carat bi-colour sapphire from Madagascar, guaranteed unheated, set in an asymmetrical diamond composition. Furthermore, this piece is part of our expertise in sourcing the most distinctive fancy sapphires. Thus, it reflects the direct connection between our stones and our clients.
Anne-Cécile’s brief
Anne-Cécile contacted us to create an engagement ring featuring a special stone: an unheated bi-colour sapphire that she personally selected during one of our live sales. She was looking for a distinctive stone whose chromatic duality would become the signature of the piece. Furthermore, the design had to highlight this double hue without overpowering it, with asymmetrically arranged accompanying diamonds. Thus, our workshop designed a three-stone rose gold composition combining round brilliant diamonds and marquise diamonds arranged in clusters on either side of the sapphire.
The 1.33-carat unheated Madagascar bi-colour sapphire
The central bi-colour sapphire comes from Madagascar, one of the most prestigious origins for this distinctive variety of fancy sapphire. Indeed, its unheated guarantee is a decisive premium attribute: most sapphires on the market undergo heat treatment to intensify their colour, making unheated bi-colour sapphires particularly sought-after. Its unique colour combines two distinct chromatic zones within a single stone, a property known as “colour zoning” and particularly prized by lovers of distinctive gemstones. Moreover, its weight of 1.33 carats is an elegant size for an engagement ring. Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale ensures excellent resistance to daily wear over decades.
The unheated bi-colour sapphire rose gold ring in detail
This unheated bi-colour sapphire rose gold ring features a particularly refined asymmetrical three-stone composition. For example, the bi-colour sapphire is claw-set in the centre, framed by round brilliant diamonds and marquise diamonds arranged in asymmetrical clusters on either side. This composition orchestrates a dialogue between the stone’s chromatic duality and the diversity of diamond shapes. The F/VS diamonds bring a sparkling brilliance that enhances the sapphire’s nuances. Furthermore, the 750/000 rose gold setting creates a warm showcase that brings the hues of the bi-colour sapphire to life. Thus, the whole creates a perfect balance between gemmological singularity and contemporary composition.
