Arthur’s brief

Arthur contacted us to create an exceptional engagement ring celebrating an unforgettable moment. He was looking for a distinctive stone in a rare hue, guaranteed to be free from heat treatment. Furthermore, the design had to showcase the centre stone through a band entirely pavé-set with diamonds, amplifying its brilliance. Thus, our workshop designed a reinterpreted solitaire whose F/VS diamond pavé band fully frames the violet sapphire.

The violet sapphire belongs to the rare family of fancy sapphires with secondary hues. Indeed, its unheated guarantee is a decisive premium feature: the majority of sapphires on the market undergo heat treatment to intensify their colour, making unheated violet sapphires particularly sought after. Its unique colour combines a deep, luminous violet, halfway between blue sapphire and amethyst. Moreover, its weight of 2.55 carats places this stone in the category of prestigious sapphires. Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale ensures excellent resistance to daily wear over decades.

This unheated violet sapphire and diamond pavé ring features a solitaire composition enhanced by a fully pavé-set band. For example, the oval centre stone is set in four claws in a prominent position, while the band is set with round brilliant diamonds arranged in continuous pavé. The F/VS diamonds bring a sparkling brilliance that highlights the sapphire’s silhouette and multiplies its violet reflections. Moreover, the 750/000 white gold setting creates a cool case that brings out the stone’s violet depth.
