Matthieu’s Brief

Matthieu contacted us to create a unique engagement ring featuring a rare and luminous stone. He was looking for an exceptional spessartite garnet, set in a colourful creation evoking a bouquet of flowers. Furthermore, the setting had to enhance the centre stone within a multicoloured surround symbolising a unique love. Our workshop therefore designed a floral motif combining pink sapphires, yellow sapphires and diamonds around the main gemstone.

The 1.59-Carat Spessartite Garnet

The central spessartite garnet weighs 1.59 carats and displays a particularly intense fiery orange colour. Indeed, spessartite garnet is one of the most sought-after varieties in the garnet family for its sunlit brilliance. Its unique colour combines the mandarin and fiery nuances characteristic of the finest spessartites. Moreover, its hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale makes it a suitable stone for an engagement jewel. Spessartite garnet remains one of the most admired stones among lovers of colourful, luminous gems.

The Spessartite Garnet Ring in Detail

This spessartite garnet ring features a centrally positioned radiant-cut stone set with prongs. For example, a floral surround forms a bouquet of pink sapphires, yellow sapphires, and natural marquise- and round-cut diamonds around the main stone. This multicoloured composition evokes a bouquet of wildflowers and lends striking brilliance to the whole. Furthermore, the 750/000 yellow gold setting echoes the stone’s orange warmth and harmonises the different colours. The overall design thus creates a perfect balance between chromatic exuberance and floral refinement.
